School Resource Officers (SROs) who have completed our week-long SRO I Basic training are invited to continue their professional development with SRO II (Intermediate) — a three-day course designed to build on foundational skills and enhance readiness for school-based policing.

This intermediate training is an essential next step in equipping SROs with the evolving knowledge, tools, and tactics necessary to keep school communities safe. As school safety concerns grow increasingly complex, SROs must be prepared to respond not only to traditional threats, but also to emerging challenges related to mental health, school climate, and solo-response scenarios. SRO II offers targeted instruction and realistic, scenario-based training that strengthens decision-making, response readiness, and student engagement skills.

What You’ll Learn

The first portion of the course reinforces and expands core competencies needed in the school environment. Topics include:

  • Perspectives of Security and Safety Directors
  • Climate and Culture
  • Mental Health Awareness
  • PAY Check
  • Interviewing Techniques
  • Domestic Violence
  • Mentoring Programs

The second half of the course focuses on solo-engagement tactics, helping officers who may be “first on the scene” develop critical mental and physical response capabilities. You’ll take part in hands-on exercises using Simunitions in mock scenarios, applying what you’ve learned in realistic environments.

REGISTER TODAY!

The next session will be available June 18–20 at Arkansas State University in Mountain Home.
