NEW ONLINE TRAINING: Lockdown Drills 101

Lockdown Drills 101 is a new 8‑hour online training course that addresses one of the most commonly used—but often inconsistently implemented—school safety practices in the United States.
Lockdown drills are conducted in approximately 98% of schools nationwide, yet practices vary widely across states, districts, and even individual campuses. Differences in frequency, protocols, communication methods, and evaluation processes can create confusion, heighten stress, and unintentionally increase trauma for students and staff. Lockdown Drills 101 was developed to help schools move toward standardized, data‑driven, and trauma‑informed approaches to lockdown drill planning and implementation.
What to Expect:
After completing the course, participants will be able to:
- Train staff and colleagues using standardized lockdown drill procedures
- Collect and analyze data from drills to assess effectiveness
- Use data to standardize practices and guide continuous improvement
- Report training results and participation numbers in compliance with applicable regulations
This course is especially valuable for those responsible for district‑wide safety planning, compliance reporting, and professional development.
The Arkansas Center for School Safety remains committed to providing research‑based, practical training that supports safe, effective, and supportive learning environments.
Lockdown Drills 101 reflects that mission by helping schools strengthen emergency preparedness while keeping student and staff well‑being at the forefront.
THERE IS NO FEE FOR THIS TRAINING. REGISTER ONLINE.
