CJI FAQs

Online Courses FAQs

Please review our list of Online Courses most Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).

Will I receive a certificate and ACLEST credit/professional development hours?

Arkansas law enforcement participants who complete the curriculum will receive contact hours of credit from the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training (ACLEST.)  A certificate will be emailed to you at the email address on your CJI course registration request. Certificates are emailed after the course close date. We will report completion of the course to ACLEST.

All ACSS courses are approved through the AR DESE allowing Arkansas K-12 educators  to earn professional development hours for the courses they complete.

How do I get help?

For technical questions contact Lynnetta Spicer at [email protected] or 501-570-8085.

Once I am registered for a course and have my login information, how do I access and complete the course?

We are in the process of moving to a new online class system!  Instead of Adobe Connect, we are using a combination of Genius and Blackboard.

For Genius/Blackboard classes, after you either receive a password to Genius or reset it you will see the course under the Active Courses area of Genius.  When you click on the class title, Blackboard will open up in another browser window and you will access the course there.  If you log out, you will be able to start the class where you left it the next time you log in.  Here’s the Quick Start Guide for Genius/Blackboard for more information.

Please complete all modules of the class, including the evaluation, to receive credit and a certificate of completion for the class. Please let us know if you have any difficulty in finding or completing the evaluation.

What are the technical requirements for accessing the online course?

You can access your online course on any computer with an internet connect, except dial-up. Adobe Flash Player 13 or later is required to run your online course. Most computers today have Flash Player. If you experience problems with audio, it may be that you need to update your version of Adobe Flash Player. You can go to Adobe.com to download a free, recent version of Adobe Flash Player.            http://get2.adobe.com/flashplayer/

When are the online courses offered?

When you complete your registration form, please indicate which course you want to take and choose from the dates offered. These dates are the open and close dates for the course offerings. Once the course open date arrives, you can log in and work on the course at your convenience, 24 hours a day, any time between the course open and close dates.

How do I register for an online course?

Register just as you would for any CJI course by completing an online registration form. We will send you an email with a URL, login, and password after the registration form is processed.

Who can take these online courses?

ACSS online courses are available to Arkansas certified law enforcement officers, SROs, and K-12 educators. We also offer our online courses for out-of-state certified law enforcement officers, SROs and K-12 educators for a fee.
