Do you work on a K-12 campus in Arkansas?
The Arkansas Center for School Safety (ACSS) provides education, training, resources, and technical assistance to Arkansas educators and law enforcement professionals to assist them in providing our kids with a safe environment to reach their academic potential. Click here for a list of all the classes we offer.

Through a partnership between the Criminal Justice Institute and the Arkansas Department of Education, a comprehensive catalog of basic and specialty school safety training courses are available to both law enforcement and school personnel, including administrators, teachers, staff, counselors, and school security officers. The ACSS utilizes both classroom-based instruction and practical, hands-on application in a variety of topics that increase knowledge and skills related to school safety issues.

A sampling of topic areas include professional development for school resource officers, safety and crisis planning, active shooter response, drugs on campus, gang awareness and intervention, and bullying awareness and prevention. There are no registration fees for ACSS classes, which allows educators to earn professional development hours at no cost to them or their school. In addition to our scheduled classes, CJI accepts training requests from school districts in need of a specific school safety course in their area.

The ACSS website also features a comprehensive list of resources to guide educators and administrators as they implement policies and procedures on their school campus.
