The Center is once again offering the SRO I Basic program in an additional format this year!

Traditionally, the program has only been offered over the course of one week during the summer. However, to assist those SROs who would like to take the training before the summer but cannot be away from their schools for a week, we are now providing an additional option that will allow them to complete coursework one day per month throughout the spring and summer.

The newly-formatted 40-hour course will be held at the Jonesboro Police Department on the following dates:

  • Day 1 – March 6
  • Day 2 – April 4
  • Day 3 – May 1
  • Day 4 – May 22
  • Day 5 – June 12

The program will also be available in Little Rock in its traditional format this summer—June 29-23, 2023.

Choose the format that best fits your schedule, and register online today!

ABOUT THE COURSE
SROs serve unique and diverse roles in law enforcement as they also perform as teachers/educators, mentors/informal counselors and law enforcement officers on the school campus. This course is designed to provide newly appointed school resource officers with the knowledge and skills they need to effectively understand and perform these important roles. Participants will gain a working knowledge of the school resource officer triad concept and how to build positive relationships with both students and staff.
