RESOURCE SPOTLIGHT: Greenlights Grant Initiative (GGI)
The just keep livin Foundation’s Greenlights Grant Initiative (GGI) helps school districts nationwide access billions of dollars of available federal funding to create safer school environments and ensure the well-being of our children.
A first-of-its-kind, non-partisan program, GGI is focused on helping school districts apply for and receive federal school safety grants.
The website features grants that are available along with a variety of resources for successfully applying for grant funding. School safety grant funding includes resources for mental health services, school security systems, and other common-sense measures to ensure our kids can learn in peace.
In partnership with education funding experts, the Greenlights Grant Initiative will identify select high-need, low-capacity districts to receive fully funded grant writing services. These school districts will be selected based on a variety of factors, including:
- High poverty rates
- Student-to-mental health professional ratio
- Whether or not a district has applied for or received a federal grant in the past
- School districts in which students have recently experienced a natural disaster or traumatic event
- Geographic diversity
